Damien Picard

Co-founder

Damien works in the construction sector since 2012. After finishing his Ph.D. about modelling and controlling sustainable buildings in 2017, Damien split his time between KU Leuven and Boydens Engineering, part of Sweco. With his usual enthusiasm and energy, he embraced the challenge of bringing to practise and commercialising the technology Filip and he developed at KU Leuven. At Boydens, part of Sweco, Damien was the head of the Automation team, leading the exciting task of automating the design calculations in a Building Information Modelling (BIM) workflow.

Filip Jorissen

CTO

After 9 years of research and development at KU Leuven on the core technology of Builtwins, Filip made the jump and co-founded Builtwins.

Filip’s vision and goal is to create efficient and user-friendly software tools for streamlining the way that we design and control buildings, energy systems and systems in general, and thereby improving the efficiency and sustainability of our society and the quality in the built environment.

20 years of leadership experience in having worked with start-up, medium sized to major industrial, chemical and FMCG companies in a global environment.

Chemical engineer and an executive MBA. Has successfully led and motivated large organizations and diverse teams in the areas of production, manufacturing, operations, business development and sales, research and development, quality assurance and SHE.

Founded and grew InOpSys NV.

Entrepreneurial, flexible, persistent and intrinsically motivated personality with highly developed social and communication skills.

Strong background in entrepreneurship, international business development, project management, and finance.
