Spreds' pre-screening process

Before a company can launch a crowdfunding campaign on Spreds, it goes through an internal pre-screening and analysis process.

During this phase, we review multiple elements such as the company structure, governance, documentation, compliance aspects, potential AML-related risks and certain background checks on key individuals involved in the project. When relevant, we also perform an initial high-level review regarding possible Tax Shelter eligibility.

The objective of this process is not to guarantee the success of a company or eliminate investment risk. Startups and SMEs remain risky investments by nature. The goal is rather to create a more transparent, professional and structured environment for both investors and entrepreneurs, while identifying potential issues before a campaign goes live.

Depending on the outcome of the review, a project may be accepted, rejected, accepted under certain conditions or require additional information before moving forward.

You can read the full explanation of the process in our detailed blog post.
