The municipality of Etterbeek is launching a participatory financing campaign (crowdlending) for the construction of a pavilion intended, notably, for the prevention service and activities related to the youth of the neighborhood.
The project is part of the redevelopment of the landscaped surroundings of the Log’Iris buildings. The youth pavilion is a unique opportunity to enhance the relationship between this new green setting, the neighborhood, and its residents.
As the building is fully decarbonized, the project is an integral part of the municipality's carbon neutrality policy, which is based in particular on the transformation or construction of exemplary and sustainable public facilities.

The construction of a youth pavilion at Général Henry
The ambition of this future youth pavilion is high and involves the creation of a space for everyone, capable of hosting a variety of activities. This community house is intended for welcoming young people, but its layout is also designed to host adults and families for neighborhood meetings and events.
The identity of the project is based on openness to the neighborhood and visibility of the activities taking place there. Its location on the corner of the site allows for architecture that radiates into the park while offering a strong main façade at the site entrance.
The project includes a 1.80m planted strip designed to avoid excessive overlooking with the neighboring houses on Rue Camille Coquilhat. It is planted and maintained in the same way as the park.

The youth pavilion construction project is also designed using simple, durable, and easily reusable building elements. Indeed, from the start, this project considers its future dismantling and adapts to the constraints of the site.
Detailed program
The main space is oriented towards the outside while offering a large wall surface that can accommodate various types of displays, projections, and furniture. This space of more than 65 m² is easily divisible by a large acoustic curtain. Both areas receive sufficient light — one from the bay opening onto the park, the other from the roof dome.
The large multipurpose hall extends outside with a large forecourt matching the full length of the main façade. The sliding glass doors allow the “park façade” to be fully opened during events in good weather.
The 10 m² kitchen opens both to the main space and to the outside, while also offering the possibility to be closed off if necessary.
The 9 m² storage areas are adapted to accommodate a foosball table, a foldable ping-pong table, tables, chairs, and technical equipment necessary for the building.
The toilet area includes a men's toilet and a women's/accessible toilet. The space allows for the integration of a urinal and a handwash basin.
The building’s sustainability
The “Youth Pavilion” building is entirely decarbonized. Heat is produced by an air/air heat pump. The entire space is lit with LED lighting.
