Competing Landscape

The main alternatives are batteries and cables, charging pads, other wireless-power suppliers and existing hospital equipment. Each solves only a part of the problem. IRM.Life aims to combine six things in one system: power across a room, flexible placement, support for many devices, hospital use, connection to medical devices and one paid hospital agreement.

How IRM.Life compares with current alternatives
One integrated hospital system combines capabilities that alternatives only partly address

Every competitor has the potential to become a partner to IRM.Life.

The current market players usually solve only part of the problem.
IRM.Life combines room coverage, medical-device use and covers several services by one commercial agreement for all - served otherwise to hospitals only from more than 5-10 providers.

Target Market - Customer

IRM.Life first plans to serve low-power hospital sensors, sealed or near-patient accessories and wearable monitors as first focus. These devices may benefit from one shared power system in the room easily.

The strongest need is where batteries, charging points and cables create extra work, cleaning, repairs and interruptions for hospital staff.

Who could buy or use IRM.Life first

First types of devices to serve Sealed accessories, near-patient test devices, wearable monitors and low-power hospital sensors.
  • Hospital groups and hospital chains Could buy the room system under a paid agreement lasting three to five years.
  • Companies that make or distribute medical devices (OEMs) Incl. HIoT producers they could build the small IRM.Life receiver into their own products and prepare the required approvals.
  • Hospital technology and infrastructure providers Could help install and support the system across hospital sites.
  • Hospices and nursing homes Could become a later market after the system has been proven in hospitals.

Business and Marketing Model

IRM.Life has to sell to businesses (B2B) meaning to OEMs like Philips, BBraun, GE and hospital chains like Fresenius Helios, Acibadem, IHCH as well as to health-tech device-manufactories and distributers e.g., to Withings, Belkin, VTEC and logistics sector representative companies such as AWS Amazon. The core product is, next to implementation service and device modelling advise to customer, the license to sell to sell to the customers in a SaaS-like agreement.

A hospital or product company would pay for the right to use the system for three to five years. A medical-device company would build (or let build) the small receiver into its own product. The price would include the right to use the system, technical instructions, room power maps, monitoring software, updated test information and help with installation.

The market is very positive. Current contacts exceed more than 20 customers.

Plan for the next 24 months
Move from a hospital-room test to a paid customer agreement
IRM Life's 24-month plan

A pre-clinical and clinical test by hospital becomes a sale in three steps: prove that the room system works, build it into a medical device, and sign a paid agreement.

Advantages for Customers

IRM.Life could help two main customer groups. Hospitals may reduce work caused by batteries, chargers and cables. Medical-device companies may gain a new way to power and monitor compatible products. These benefits still need to be proven for each hospital and device.

· Less daily work - Could reduce searching, plugging, charging, cleaning, battery changes and connector repairs for compatible devices.
· Designed for hospital use - First focuses on sealed accessories, wearable monitors and sensors where cables and batteries can make care and cleaning harder.
· A clear paid agreement - The customer would pay for a defined hospital or product line for three to five years.
· Harder to copy over time - Combines protected technology with room maps, device limits, reliability records and results accepted by partners.
· Tiny production hardware cost – a receiver hardware costs <2 USD, a transmitter < 20 USD in serial production.
. Public environment compliancy and image enhancement - and new markets to close for the OEMs while enhancing customer compliance and helping environment by battery and cable avoidance.
