Capturing a Rising Market: High-Value Autoimmune Therapies for Growing Pet Care Demand
The veterinary autoimmune therapeutics market is an emerging, fast-growing segment of the pet healthcare industry, fuelled by rising pet ownership and increasing spending on animal health.
Treatments for Canine Myasthenia Gravis (CMG), a rare neuromuscular disease in dogs, represent an important market opportunity. Each year, around 3,000 dogs are treated for this condition in Europe and North America combined, with the two markets valued at about €4.8 million and €6.3 million, respectively. Veterinary specialists believe that the actual number of affected dogs may be up to three times higher, as many cases go undiagnosed and untreated. As awareness of the disease increases, diagnostic tools improve, and more pet owners become willing to invest in treatments that can greatly improve their dogs’ quality of life, the potential market for effective therapies is likely much larger.
Competitive Differentiation
A First-in-Class Veterinary Immunotherapy: Safer, Smarter, Superior Outcomes
- CuraVac’s targeted immunotherapy platform uniquely differentiates itself from conventional broad-spectrum immunosuppressive treatments currently available, offering superior clinical outcomes and significantly lower risk of adverse effects.

This regulatory shift enables rapid entry into growing niche markets, supporting first-mover advantage and transforming previously unviable opportunities into highly profitable ventures. Businesses can now confidently invest in pioneering therapies for rare animal conditions, knowing the pathway to approval is faster, less complex, and far more cost-effective than before.
