This investment is eligible for a tax reduction for Belgian investors under the tax incentive on tax shelter for start-ups. The available tax shelter budget is €135.000
3. Valuation of the company
The company has set a pre-money valuation of €1.930.000
The last post-money valuation of the company was €2,080,000, set on 30/10/2026.
Beyond Sports BV has set a pre-money valuation of €1,930,000. We got there in three steps:
- Starting valuation of €1,500,000 (2025). In 2025 we built a five-year financial plan for Beyond Sports. We valued the company at 2.5 times the revenue that plan projects for year 5. That gave a starting valuation of €1.5 million.
- From PowerPoint to product: +15%. Since then we went from an idea on slides to a working product. Beyond the Mat, our first project, is live on iOS and Android in English, French and Dutch, in the UK, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. For that step we raised the valuation by 15%.
- Two funding rounds. We then raised €106,000 in Round 1 and €200,465 in Round 2 (including €80,000 from two strategic angels, Patrick Van Kalken and Steven Vanharen). Together these steps bring the pre-money valuation to approximately €1,930,000 today.
Other elements we took into account:
- The product is live and has real users. We soft-launched in September 2026 with limited marketing, and our first numbers are above our own best pre-launch estimate.
- Beyond Sports owns 100% of its intellectual property.
- What we build for BJJ can be reused for other sports. For judo for kids (planned for Q2 2027) we reuse about 60% of it. Olympic medallist Gella Vandecaveye is on board as a shareholder.
- Beyond Sports is the company and Beyond the Mat is its first project. The same platform is meant to grow into more sports.
For these reasons we believe €1.93 million reflects where Beyond Sports stands today and what it can grow into.
4. Exit strategy
Beyond Sports envisages a strategic acquisition in 2029–2031, once its sports learning model has expanded across several disciplines and demonstrated profitability. Potential buyers include subscription-based education platforms, sports and connected fitness groups, and specialised SportsTech funds. The base case targets an enterprise valuation of €10.5–13.5 million in 2030, compared with a €2.08 million post-money valuation for the current round, representing an illustrative gross multiple of ×5–×6.5, excluding tax shelter benefits, before dilution and fees and subject to the adjustment from enterprise value to equity value. The roadmap includes launching judo in Q2 2027 and football in Q2 2028, with the first positive monthly EBITDA projected for July 2028. An acquisition by a fund or a merger with a complementary business could provide alternative exit routes. The timing will need to account for any shareholding requirements applicable to each investment. These targets do not guarantee returns or an exit; investors may lose their entire investment.
