Daymaker works with a clear 3-5 year business strategy in mind. Generally, a two-sided marketplace doesn’t have a filled-out path to follow for growth, but has to be creative and entrepreneurial in its way of work. That is exactly how Daymaker’s going to tackle their growth. Here’s a concise overview of its growth strategy:

Phase one, 2022 (DONE): POC

In its launch year, Daymaker proofed its business model both on user and on customer side. There’s traction in the market coming from all stakeholders, even without having many users yet. The year ended with Lien working full-time in the company, and with a clear growth strategy in place that uses the Benelux as the trial-and-error market.

Phase two, 2023 (ONGOING): community growth Benelux

2023 focuses on community growth. Only in the Benelux, as this makes sure Daymaker can test in a structured way. Both lots of content creators (“Daymakers”) and travelers (“Daytrippers”) need to find its way to Daymaker. This year evolves around trial & error with growth hacks and marketing techniques. All initiatives are followed up on very closely, with one goal in mind: finding the perfect marketing mix to grow Daymaker’s user base, so that it’s big enough to sell advertising space.

Phase three, 2024 (TO DO): Benelux sales tourism boards & accommodations

Now that Daymaker has a substantial user base, sales can intensify. In 2024, all major tourism boards and accommodation groups are being approached. This will be done via Lien’s strong network in this industry. Sales in 2022 learned Daymaker that a sole introduction meeting often is enough for a collaboration agreement. Of course, meanwhile the marketing team will implement the growth tactics from the year(s) before to keep on growing.

Phase four, 2025 (TO DO): Commercial sales Benelux & Europe expansion plan

2025 will be focused on more revenue, coming from less clients. At this point, Daymaker will have enough users to approach bigger commercial companies with bigger marketing budgets. While sales and community growth continue, the goal this year is to create a Europe expansion plan based on Daymaker’s learnings in the Benelux. As from 2026, the company namely wants to expand to new markets with a clear strategy in place.
