#FundedFamily: Skinoo positively impacts maternal health

— Startup successes — 1 minute read

Breastfeeding is one of the most common recommendations for new moms, as it is proven that this method benefits the baby’s growth. However, it can also be a tough thing for new moms who often find it painful and are forced to stop.

With this situation, mother of four, Jasmine De Wulf, recognised the problem and found a solution. Skinoo is a breastfeeding ring made of natural cotton to protect the nipple. In 2014, with a patented invention in its possession, Skinoo needed further investment to improve its distribution. That’s when they turned to MyMicroInvest.

Skinoo offered equity to the crowd of MyMicroinvest in June 2014. The pre-money valuation of the company stood at €300,000. 90 crowd investors supported the project and helped the campaign reach 146% of its investment goal!

The company continues to develop its product, and will soon release a new version, drawing on rigorous research with public and private laboratories across the country and consulting with breastfeeding experts. According to Skinoo, this latest product is very affordable and a “one for all” solution that positively impacts maternal health.

Skinoo is sold in reusable and recyclable packaging, which not only positively impacts the environment but also helps preserve the hygiene of the product for mothers on the go.

Skinoo is a proud member of our #FundedFamily and is available in over 4000 pharmacies in Belgium as well as online.

We’re happy to support Skinoo and to follow their growth.
